OUR WORK CREATES PERMANENT PUBLIC BENEFITS

At CCI, we work on diverse projects in urban and rural areas that help both natural habitats and people. We are dedicated to working in areas with exceptional unmet needs.

Water Quality Improvement Project
Cleaning up polluted waters throughout L.A. County's rivers, streams, lakes, bays and ocean

Green Solution Study
Creating new open space, parks and habitat that naturally filter polluted urban and stormwater runoff

El Monte Transit Village
Building an environmentally-friendly Transit-Oriented Development at L.A. County's busiest bus transit hub

L.A. Riverfront Open Space
Protecting the last remaining open space along the L.A. River in the San Fernando Valley

Baldwin Hills Park
The last, large undeveloped open space in urban Los Angeles offers an extraordinary opportunity to create One Big Park - a two-square mile urban park, natural and recreation area serving millions of nearby residents.

Upper Newport Bay
CCI is directing efforts to restore critical wetlands and native habitats, provide public trails and protect endangered plants and animals in Southern California’s only intact coastal wetlands system.

Parks for Health Initiative
CCI’s Walk for Health Trail in the Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area promotes fun ways to prevent illness and to address serious health problems plaguing African-American and Latino communities.

The Education Project
CCI is directing a network of wilderness camps, science programs and fieldinternships to bridge the education gap between youth of color and the many professions of conservation science.

Spring Street Center for Environmental Education & Training
CCI is helping create a state-of-the-art facility integrating science labs and natural outdoor learning areas to provide conservation education and job opportunities to L.A. County’s disadvantaged, inner-city youth.
